The imposing mountain giants of the Dead Mountains form a breathtaking backdrop to the only World Cup ski area in Upper Austria, Höss in Hinterstoder. The Pyhrn-Priel region is quickly accessible from Prague by a direct highway connection and there is a world of pistes that has something to offer every type of skier. From 2022/2023, there is a new, state-of-the-art 10-seater Hössbahn chairlift.
The Hinterstoder ski area reaches up to an altitude of 2,000 meters and offers winter sports enthusiasts a particularly high level of snow security on 40 kilometers of varied pistes.
Extensive panoramic slopes with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains ensure pure winter enjoyment. The World Cup course, named after world champion downhill skiing Hannes Trinkl from St. With a length of 3,500 meters, a maximum slope of 60 percent and a width of up to 80 meters, the Pankraz presents a challenge to the top athletes of international skiing and also gives amateur athletes the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the World Championships. Other highlights are the Inferno slope with a slope of up to 70%, the SNOWtrail, which promises a lot of fun, a speed run and a permanent race run with a timer. Families with children will find numerous attractions for the little ones in Hinterstoder. Sunny Kids Park has training lifts, a ski carousel, a sliding carpet and slopes.
